Anti-Goals: Stop Doing What You Hate
Reclaim Your Time & Energy for What Matters
Have you been unknowingly poisoned by the "Hustle" culture? Feel like you're supposed to want to grind 24/7, even when your soul begs for a freaking break? Me too. But what if the path to greater productivity and fulfillment involved doing…less? That's where anti-goals turned everything upside down for me.
I'm ambitious – but on my own terms. I hate wasting precious time on things simply because "that's how it's done."...
Sure, I can force myself to churn out content or take on the 'right' clients, but it never leads to my best work.
Anti-goals go against those unspoken rules holding you back.
By pinpointing what I disliked doing, I could be strategic about the work that energizes me and makes an impact.
The Hardest Part:
Cutting out 1:1 coaching, though draining, was a key revenue source. The problem was my pricing model attracted clients with a scarcity mindset. This misalignment made every session an uphill battle. The solution was to restructure it with a higher price point aligned with the value I offered.
Unforeseen Benefits
Initially, this felt risky. However, the freed-up time forced creative problem-solving.
This led to the scalable model that serves a wider audience and generates passive income.
Now, I have more time for creativity and sustainability
Before:
Feeling obligated to participate in networking events
Burning out trying to do it all myself
After:
Demanding excellence, even if it means fewer clients (but way more rewarding ones)
Investing in the resources/help that frees up my best work
My Anti-Goal Success:
Increased Focus: Eliminating energy-draining tasks boosted productivity on projects that truly matter.
Creative Breakthroughs: The initial discomfort forced me to innovate and find better solutions.
Client Fit: My higher-priced offerings now attract clients who value my expertise and are ready to invest in themselves, leading to better outcomes for everyone.
Key Takeaway:
Anti-goals aren't about negativity. They're a strategy for reclaiming your limited time, energy, and creative potential. It takes courage, but the results can be surprisingly transformative.
Let me know if you'd like help brainstorming these. We often accept the status quo simply by habit, and an outside perspective can be invaluable!
